The appropriate length of the closure process depends on the length and intensity of the treatment.
We may end treatment after appropriate discussions with you and a closure process…
if any of the following conditions apply:
- You have met your therapeutic goals.
- When it becomes evident that you are not making progress toward meeting your therapeutic goals.
- You are in default of your financial responsibility.
From time to time, we will have discussions about how and when you’ll know therapy is ready to come to a close. We will not end the therapeutic relationship without first discussing and exploring the reasons and purpose for discontinuing services.
If therapy is discontinued for any reason or you request another therapist, we will provide you with a list of qualified psychotherapists to treat you. You may also choose someone on your own or from another referral source.
Should you fail to schedule an appointment for three consecutive weeks, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, for legal and ethical reasons, we must consider the professional relationship discontinued.
